My original Transformers character - Syrinx.
When photoshopping I tend to use one layer for one color's midtones, one for its highlights and one for its shadows, plus the background. I end up with pretty heavy PSD files, but it's easier to make light trials like this one. Will post a bio soon - let's just say that beside being one of the first transforming robots ever created, Syrinx was meant to be the prototype of a new generation of bodyguards for the Cybertron-ruling Quintessons, until he revolted and simply killed the Quint he was supposed to protect. Frightened by the perspective of a slave they couldn't control, the Quintessons banned him into an other-dimensional realm. (CF "Madman"s Paradise" TF episode for the technology). Strange, because I never even thought about Skyfire or the Seekers for the concept. As for the alt mode, he is indeed a bird-shaped jet. As the TF's ancestors had rather organic shapes (look at Beta), I thought he too, should look more organic than the average TF.
